Phase 3: Intersubjective Space
For the 3rd phase, we have assumed that the van will park in Izmir Inciraltı Urban Forest, and the artist will make a public demonstration to meet the visitors who come to see his/her professional skills and have special experiences in a site full of with nature. We have designed the intersubjective space with 3 modules, 2 of which are for having sensory experiences at both the forest and seaside, and 1 of which is for the exhibition of items collected by the artist from different cultures and geographies. The two experience spaces overlap with the professional scope of the artist: experiencing a special taste (chef), musical composition (musician), reading (author), and dance show (modern dancer) in a comfortable and synesthetically integrated way under the trees and at the seaside by our design proposals was the main aim.

Aim: understanding the site and context based on the functional and sensory relationships in space.

Requirements: design of interpersonal space with 2 sensory-experience modules and 1 exhibition module by analyzing the natural elements (trees, sand, and sea), site, landscape, and senses by focusing on the synesthetic experience of space, circulation, function, ergonomics, the flexibility of use, publicity, light, spatial closure degrees, materials (optional), structural elements (limited), and living scenario of the visitors and artist (chef, musician, writer, or modern dancer).

Limitations: the caravan should be integrated/combined/related to the project; the max. area of the spaces in total cannot exceed 300 sqm; there should be open, semi-closed/semi-open, and closed spaces in the project; the linear, planar, and solid elements can be used in creating the architectonic language; the structural supports should be provided in basic respect; material selection and color coding are not encouraged; material qualities (transparency, translucency, opaqueness) should be regarded; the trees can only be integrated into the module designed in the forest part--there should not be any other trees in the modules of sand and sea (if there is not any specific reason); there should be gradual experience levels in terms of getting in touch with water in the sea module; the exhibition module can be placed especially on the sand for it requires a closed space, too, therefore, the experience with the sand can also be limited; the effects of natural light should be considered especially in the exhibition spaces; the universal design criteria had to be ignored because of the time limitation; making the physical model of the project is optional.
